The recent developments outlined by Theresa May with regards to Brexit have sparked several debates within the insurance press.
Most of them have not shown her comments in a positive light and research from the CII indicates that economic confidence is at an all-time low. While the report says that this was expected with the imminent Brexit discussions, they were surprised at how low confidence is at the moment.
Having just visited a number of brokers throughout the UK, we have found that while overall confidence is at an all-time low according to the report, the brokers that we have spoken to do not have any intentions to alter their plans for 2017. In fact we have seen less tightening of belts and we were pleased to hear that several brokers are planning to expand their Private Client portfolio.
We, for one, are pleased to see that our industry is so robust on the front line and that people are carrying on as normal.
